May 23, 2020 — In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, President Donald Trump was seen golfing on Saturday at his Virginia club.  The visit was the first to one of his properties since March.

As the Presidential motorcade pulled up to the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, at 10:27 a.m. ET, according to pool reports, members of the Secret Service were seen with the President wearing masks on the course, however, Trump and his golfing partners did not dawn protective face masks.

Taking precautionary measures, it was reported by Abdallah that the President rode by himself in his own golf cart and there was no caddy in sight.  President Trump’s visit to his private golf course comes as the White House is pushing for states to reopen and lift stay-at-home orders.

At Friday’s White House briefing, White House coronavirus task force official Dr. Deborah Birx said that Americans should take this Memorial holiday weekend to enjoy the outdoors, but they should also take precautions while doing so.

“So please as you go out this weekend, understand you can go out, you can be outside. You can play golf, you can play tennis with marked balls. You can go to the beaches if you stay 6 feet apart, but remember that that is your space and that’s a space that you need to protect and ensure that you’re social distanced for others,” Birx said.

The last golf outing in which President Trump was known to have was in eaely March, on March 8 to be exact, when the President visited the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.  This Saturday’s outing marked Trump’s 357th visit to one of his properties and his 265th trips to one of his golf clubs during his presidency, according to a count being kept by CNN.  Trump’s round of golf seems to be sending a message to Americans that things are getting back to normal.

His particpation seems to be without self-complaint, however, Trump has made numerous complaints (often calling into Fox & Friends) about the number of times that President Obama went out golfing during his presidency.

Trump had previously called into a PGA golf program on NBC and told the host that he missed the sport and hasn’t been able to play amid the pandemic because he’s been busy. “I do miss it. I haven’t played really since this problem that we have started. I haven’t been able to play golf for a while, I’ve been very busy and I think it’s just one of those things,” Trump said Sunday.
