GOLFER OF THE WEEK
PROFILE SERIES LAUNCHES
New York, NY, September 8, 2011 - Golfers who have a
love and passion for the game now have the opportunity
to be featured in an exciting weekly series entitled:
Golfer Of The Week.
The profile segment launched on March 14, 2011 and has
continued to be in demand among all ages of the magazine's
readers. The initial segment highlighted the achievements
of 7-year-old youth golfer, PJ Davis, a resident of Omaha,
NE. PJ
Davis - Golfer Of The Week. Since then, profiles have
included new-to-seasoned players of the game.
“This series is a way for us to recognize our loyal
readers by sharing their pursuit of excellence with our
online audience,” said publisher of the national
quarterly, Debert Cook. Ms. Cook has successfully lead
the niche magazine for 8-years and has amassed a significant
following of 80,000 readers.
”The game of golf is continuously growing among
Black people—the young, professionals, retirees,
and especially women—and our weekly feature comprises
Black golfers from all walks of this “golf life”
in an interesting and short-read type of way,” says
Cook, a Certified Meeting Planner with over 15 years of
industry experience who started playing golf and turned
to publishing eight years ago to help promote and grow
the game among minorities.
"We showcase golfers playing on school teams, with
their friends, parents and even some who seek to go pro.
It's a big golf world out here and Black people are active
participants."
The weekly series is sent to African American Golfers
Digest online subscribers via Eblast every Tuesday
and includes a link to the individual profile with photos
of the individual enjoying the sport. There is also an
online link for golfers who are interested in being featured
which can be accessed at the bottom of the golfers listing
page at Golfer
Of The Week Profile Consideration
The popular series has received sponsorship by several
equipment companies, who usually commit for 6-12 week
segments, and the future for the series looks as bright
as the sporty individuals it features.
