Bahamas Professional Golf Tour Enjoys a Successful Launch

Bahamas Professional Golf Tour LogoThe Bahamas Professional Golf Tour set a new golfing pace and standard on Friday, May 22, 2018 with the launch of the first golf classic.  The tournament successfully increased and heighten golfing awareness and exposure to the professional golfing community.

42 Professional and Amateur golfers took to the Royal Blue Golf Course at 2:30 p.m. sharp, with one familiar local female professional golfer amongst the top ranking players, Ms. Georgette Rolle, Junior Golf Coach and Baha Mar Royal Blue Golf Pro.

The excitement was high and the energy intense, as cash prizes and other great prizes awaited the Top 3 finishers in three categories.  In addition, two golf professionals from the Albany Golf Course were on hand to represent their venue: VP Michelmore and Course Director Lemon Gorospe.  Each played stellar golf in their first BPGT classic of the BPGT signature series.

Mr. Riccardo Davis, Founder/CEO of the BPGT, won the Pro-Am Division along with his four teammates with an overall score of -13 PAR.

The winning team comprised of father and son dynamic duo, Philip and Spencer Andrews (representing Lead Sponsor Bahamas Waste Limited), Richard Gibson Jr. and Ryan Coerbell. Gibson finished -4 Par with an overall score of 68 (in the Amateur Category) and hit a birdie on the 11th hole and an eagle at the 12th in the inaugural BPGT Classic.  This winning team of five showed excellent skill and finesse on the greens and certainly showed great passion throughout the 18 holes of professional tournament play.

The overall Professional Division Winner was Mr. David Harris, professional golfer from Houston, Texas who shot a score of 70 finishing -2 PAR. and received a total prize package including cash of $3000.

Mr. Greg Maycock, hailing from Grand Bahama, finished at a close 2nd at -1 PAR for a score of 71 and Albany’s VP Damien Michelmore secured a 3rd Place finish at EVEN PAR. Mr. Harris is a golf enthusiast who plays golf every day and it is this level of professional play that the BPGT intends to build upon during the 2018 Series of Golf Open.

The BPGT invites all Professional Golfers to join them in the second round of the BPGT Professional Golf Open. Hosted at the Royal Blue Golf Course @ Baha Mar, BPGT TOUR PARTNER, Tee Off is at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 29th, 2018.
